Brookdale Regional Library & Service Center
Brooklyn Center, MN
A 135,000 sf sustainably designed and construction public library
Project Description
Brookdale was the first major Hennepin County construction project to fully comply with the Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide. The project was an addition to an original building, expanding it to the south and east, allowing for new building entrances to be highly visible from Shingle Creek Parkway. The renovation incorporated sustainable features, including the use of recycled paint, clerestory windows for increased daylighting, and the installation of recycled doors and windows.
